It is the start of an important tour for the Bangladesh side which has come up with good performances in the last few months. They would be playing against hosts Pakistan Women in Lahore in the first T20i of the three-match series.
Both sides have several young and exciting players in their ranks and it would make the game interesting. Bangladesh Women have a poor record against Pakistan Women and have so far managed to win only one game against them and lost on eleven other occasions. They haven’t won a game on Pakistani soil ever which they would like to change as they play in the next game. Pakistan Women, on the other hand, would be in no mood to be charitable towards their visitors and would look to start off the series with a win.

Bismah Maroof’s side hasn’t done well in the last few games and they would be looking to turn it around as they would be playing at home after a long game. Maroof would want her side to take confidence from the fact that they have a good record against Bangladesh Women and continue their dominance over their opponents. The opening pair of Omaima Sohail and Javeria Khan will need to provide the side with a good start in the game.
They have good hitting abilities and look to do well. In the middle order Bismah Maroof, Aliya Riaz, Anam Amin, and Iram Javed will look to push up the scoring rate in the middle overs and exploit the inexperienced Bangla bowling attack. The bowling line-up is very strong for the side with Sana Mir and Aliya Riaz having great skills with the ball. They would need to pick early wickets for the side. Diana Baig and Saba Nazir will look to check the flow of runs along with Kianat Imtiaz in the upcoming game.

Salma Khatun’s side has been in good form for the last couple of months where they have won their last eight games. The side would be looking to carry this confidence into the upcoming game. Khatun would, however, know that Pakistan Women would pose a tougher challenge and her side will need to put their best foot forward in the next game. The batting line-up looks strong for the side with Sanjida Islam and Sharmin Akhter opening the batting for the side. They would look to provide the team with a good start in the game.
The middle-order has quality players in Sharmin Sultana, Jahanara Alam, Fargana Haque and Shamima Sultana. They would be up against a strong bowling attack that Pakistan has and need to do well in the game. As far for the bowling unit, the side would rest on Salma Khatun’s experience and hope the new ball pair of Lata Mondal and Jahanara Alam picks early wickets in the game. Panna Ghosh and Khadija Tul Kubra will need to check the flow of runs in the middle overs for the side to do well in the game.

It would be clear skies over Lahore on October 26 and this would make conditions perfect for batting. The pitch is expected to be a flat one to bat on which would make it easy for the batters to hit through the line. The side batting first would need to score in excess of 160 runs to feel comfortable on this surface.
Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore is one of the best batting surfaces in the world and has seen several high scoring encounters in the past. The ball comes on to the bat nicely and allows batters to free their arms. There isn’t much for the fast bowlers in this surface while spinners have done well here.
The wicket at the Gaddafi Stadium Lahore has always been a good one to bat on and the team batting first would play on a flat surface. The spinners are likely to get turn in the second game. We expect the skipper winning the toss to bat first on this surface.
It would be a tough challenge for Bangladesh Women as they play the first of the T20i against Pakistan Women in the latter’s den. The Bangladeshi side has an undistinguished record in Pakistan and this is likely to play in their minds when they take the field in the first game. The hosts have a record of taming their opponents in home conditions and would be looking to do the same in the next game. It is expected to be a high voltage contest but given Pakistan’s record against Bangla girls the hosts would start favorites in this game.
