Pakistan Women made a good start to the three-match T20 series against Bangladesh Women winning the first game by 14 runs. The result was on expected lines as Bangladesh Women hasn’t had the best of records against Pakistan Women.
While the Pakistani team would also be upset with the performance of its batters there is a wide gap that separates the two sides at the moment. As Bangladesh now gets into a must-win game they would be troubled by the fact that they have never managed to defeat Pakistan in the latter’s territory. This is acting like a mental roadblock and was visible in the last game where they failed to chase down an average total on a good batting surface. It would require a good effort from the Bangladeshi girls to win the next game.

Bismah Maroof would be happy with the result of the game which has allowed them to take a lead in the series but the skipper would be disappointed with the performance of her batters. Many of the batters ended up gifting away their wickets in the last game. Maroof would want to correct that ahead of the next game. Sidra Ameen and Javeria Khan would need to provide a good start at the top and both these players failed in the last game.
Maroof and Omaima Sohail looked in good form and so did Iram Javed towards the end in what wasn’t the most convincing batting show from the team. The likes of Aliya Riaz and Kainat Imtiaz would be expected to do well in the next game with the bat. It was a splendid bowling show from Anam Amin and Aliya Riaz that led their side to victory defending a low total.
Sadia Iqbal also kept the line tight in the last game and shall look to carry the form into the next game. The side would like to see better bowling from Diana Baig with the new ball as this would add to the strength of their bowling attack.

Salma Khatun would be heartbroken with the way her side batted in the last game. Chasing 127 runs to win the skipper would have felt confident half way through the game but her batters failed to apply their mind and ended up throwing the game. They need to win the next one to level the series and the skipper would want to see better efforts from her players. Rumana Ahmed played well for her fifty in the last game but found little support at the other end.
Sharmin Sultana and Ayasha Rahman need to put a price on their wicket at the top as both these players failed in the last game. Nigar Sultana and Sanjida Islam have to put a price on their wicket in the next game. The side needs to bat well as a unit against the strong bowling attack that Pakistan has.
Jahanara Alam was outstanding with the ball in the last game and found good support from Panna Ghosh and Lata Mondal. The trio will look to continue with the same form in the next game and tie down the Pakistani batters. The likes of Khadija Tul Kubra and Rumana Ahmed have to support them well in the next game.

The skies would be clear over Lahore on the 28th of October. The pitch was a good one to bat on in the first game and would remain the same in the second game. There isn’t much for the fast bowlers on this surface while the spinners are likely to do well. The side that bats first on the surface would hope to make a score of around 160 runs.
Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore has always been one of the best places to bat. The ball comes into the bat with true pace and bounce which allows batters to free their arms. The wicket has also had a reputation of offering turn and bounce to the spinners and they have done well on this wicket.
The surface is likely to be a good one to bat on and there isn’t going to be much assistance for the fast bowlers. Spinners would love bowling here in the second innings when the pitch wears down a bit. We expect the side winning the toss to bat first on this surface.
The challenge facing the Bangladesh Women side has only got steeper with their loss in the first game. The side would be under pressure as they failed to chase down a small total and this would create doubts in their mind. Pakistan Women on the other hand also have their own issues to sort out after their batters didn’t put up the best of the show in the last game. Yet the hosts would have the crowds behind them when they play the next game and would start as favorites to win this one.
