In a surprisingly poor show, Perth Scorchers Women were bowled out for 107 against Hobart Hurricanes Women in their last game and went on to lose the game by 6 wickets. While this will not affect their semi-final prospects, it has brought down their Net Run Rate to -0.108. For a team that has 16 points in the season and are placed 3rd on the points table, this was a proper jolt ahead of the knock-out stages. Perth will be meeting Hobart Hurricanes again on the final day and the final league match of the league stage.
Hobart Hurricanes Women, who have had a very poor season so far, have brought some semblance of respect to their season after that victory against a top side like Perth. However, they are still placed 7th on the points table with 9 points and a Net Run Rate of -0.073. While the outcome of this match will not change their fortunes in the season anymore, Hobart will be eager to finish their season on a high.

Perth Scorchers Women would be eager to get back to winning ways after their shocking loss to Hobart in the last game. Their batting was abysmal in that game and everyone failed. They shouldn't worry much as their batting order is still quite steady. Captain Meg Lanning has led from the front and has amassed 429 runs in the season with 4 fifties. Natalie Sciver (342 runs) and Amy Ellen Jones (391) are the other two top-order batters who have done the bulk of the scoring for the team. Perth's middle and lower order hasn't lived up to the responsibility and has often failed to deliver, like in the last match. That is one area of concern for the team management.
Perth's bowling has been good with almost everyone being among the wickets. Medium pacers Heather Graham (14 wickets) and Kim Garth (13 wickets) have done the bulk of the job for the team. Taneale Peschel has been taking wickets too while Nicole Bolton has done a good containing job. The bowling outfit will look to deliver the goods once again in the last league game for the team.

The victory against Perth has come at the right time for Hobart Hurricanes Women. After suffering 8 losses in the season they needed a win badly to have something to cheer about before the next season. Their bowling unit put up a superb show on a slow wicket and would be eager to carry that form when the team collides with Perth again on Sunday.
Tayla Vlaeminck, Belinda Vakarewa, Nicola Carey and Maisy Gibson each picked up wickets in the last game and looked really good. Fast bowler Vakarewa now has 20 wickets for the season and has been the standout star for Hobart. Since the game is being played on the same wicket, she can pose serious challenges to the Perth batters.
In the batting department, Hobart Hurricanes have been decent. As many as 6 batters from the side have scored 200-plus runs in the season but they have failed to convert starts into big scores. Heather Knight, Erin Fazackerley, Nicola Carey and Chloe Tryon have all been the regular contributors of the team. The team management would have expected more of them as none in the team has managed to cross the 300-run mark for the season. Captain Corinne Hall has had an offseason and would be desperate to have some runs in the last match. It looks like the top-order, led by Fazackerley will have to do the job again.

The pitch at the Lilac Hill Park in Perth is generally a good and true surface. However, as was seen in the last game, the batters struggled to get going and the seamers had merry. We can expect another low-scoring game where batting won't be as easy and seamers will get help. The weather for the matchday is expected to be bright and sunny. Conditions would be good for batting in the first six overs.
Lilac Hill Park in Perth hasn't hosted an international game yet. Hence, not much is known about the ground's characteristics. It does, however, have good bounce and has something in it for both the batters and bowlers. A total of 140-150 in 20 overs can be a match-winning one.
Of the 3 games played at Lilac Hill Park, Perth, in WBBL 2019-20, 2 have been won by the team batting 2nd. Expect the team winning the toss to bowl first.
The loss in the last game against Hobart Hurricanes would have jolted the Perth Scorchers Women. Perhaps they took things a tad casually as they already have their semis berth sealed. That loss, though, would have served as a good wake-up call for the team and expect Perth to stage a strong comeback. They would be eager to finish the league stage on a high and enter the knock-out stages with some confidence. The Scorchers are a solid side and would look to iron out the flaws in this match.
Hobart Hurricanes Women, meanwhile, have their pride to play for. After that commanding win, they would look to repeat the performance against Perth. Expect a close and exciting contest. One must not forget, however, that in the last 6 games between Perth Scorchers Women and Hobart Hurricanes Women, Perth has lost only once.
