Perth Scorchers would be hosting their arch-nemesis - Adelaide Strikers in their second clash of BBL 2019-20, with the earlier encounter witnessing the Strikers win by a margin of 15-runs, courtesy Jake Weatherald (83) and Alex Carey (55) for getting their side past the victory margins. This time as well, there would be fierce competition as both the teams would be anxious to cement their spot in BBL 2019-20 points table.
Scorchers, in particular, would be under pressure considering they need to win their remaining couple of matches in order to surely qualify for the playoff, while a solitary win could put them in contention along with one or more teams in case they fall down to the fifth spot.
Both Scorchers and Strikers would be coming into the contest on the back of victories in their lately concluded matches and thus, one could expect a cracker of a contest amidst the conditions of Perth.

Josh Inglis (382 runs in 12 innings) and Liam Livingstone (326 runs in 12 innings) have had numerous match-winning partnerships in the course of helping the Scorchers in the BBL 2019-20. In fact, Inglis (58) and Livingstone (78) were the top-performers for the Scorchers in the recent match against Thunder.
In the middle order, skipper Mitchell Marsh (367 runs in 12 innings) and Cameron Bancroft (243 runs in 11 innings) have put concrete exhibitions so far and would be backed to come up with decent totals in the coming T20. In the bowling department, Jhye Richardson (14 wickets in 12 innings), Chris Jordan (14 wickets in 12 innings) and Fawad Ahmed (14 wickets in 12 innings) have been on a rampage with their bowling prowess in the ongoing edition of BBL.
Jordan, with his consistent line and lengths, scalped figures of 3/28 in the last match against Sydney Thunder thereby restricting them to a total of 153. Not to forget, Matthew Kelly (0/26) bowled decently in the previous match and would be hoping to come up with similar figures at Perth.
Ashton Agar, CT Bancroft, Josh Inglis, Chris Jordan, Jhye Richardson, Fawad Ahmed, Mitchell Marsh, AJ Turner, Matthew Kelly, Liam Livingstone, Kurtis Patterson
Strikers would be reliant on the duo of Jake Weatherald (352 runs in 12 innings) and Jonathan Wells (406 runs in 11 innings) for scoring the chunk of runs in the much-coveted encounter. Wells was in a fine nick in the recent match wherein he scored an unbeaten 55 of 36 deliveries and along with Alex Carey would look to get those sixes and fours from the very moment. Skipper Travis Head (114 runs in 4 innings) has been impressive since his arrival into the squad and would be a vital cog in the middle order.
Bowling wise, pacer Peter Siddle (4/33) and Wes Agar (2/30) garnered economical figures in the game against Melbourne Stars and will look to rip apart the rival in the powerplays. Afghani spinner Rashid Khan (17 wickets in 12 innings) is second on the list of leading wicket-takers in BBL 2019-20 and with his unplayable googlies and leg-breaks has been the go-to man in the middle-overs.
Michael Neser, Philip Salt, Matthew Short, WA Agar, Alex Carey, Jake Weatherald, Peter Siddle, Rashid Khan, TM Head, Billy Stanlake, JW Wells
Clear skies are being predicted for the coming game with the temperature hovering between 21-26 degrees Celsius. At the start, there would be sunny conditions offering help to the pacers and spinners in getting the desired seam and spin respectively, while it is the batsmen who would dominate the second half of the play.
The wicket at Perth Stadium offers a significant advantage to the batters with 160 being the average 1st innings total. Any score close to 180 would be a par total at this venue.
The toss winning team should look to bowl first on this occasion. The presence of dew in the second innings is something the batsmen would take into advantage whilst chasing big totals.
Adelaide Strikers would be the favorites for the coming game. The Travis Head-captained side possesses a far lethal unit in terms of batting and bowling which clearly gives them an edge over Scorchers. The likes of Jonathan Wells, Jake Weatherald, Alex Carey and Rashid Khan to name a few, have had a successful run so far and would be banked to lead upfront as the Strikers look to cement a spot in the knockouts.
