Royal challengers Banglore lock horns with Rajasthan Royals in the 16th match of IPL 2021 at Wankhade Stadium in Mumbai on Thursday. RCB had a remarkable start to the IPL 2021 season as they got three wins from as many games; the only unbeaten team so far in the ongoing season. Especially, Kohli and co would be very elated following their team performance against SRH earlier where they pulled off a victory from a difficult situation and picked 7 wickets for just 29 runs in death overs. In batting, Glen Maxwell and AB De Villiers and H Patel with bowl did a splendid job and they were the key architects for RCB’s success. Currently, both RCB’s bowlers and batsmen playing their role to perfections and they would be hoping to carry on the good form and register yet another win.
On the other hand, RR had a bad start to their campaign with just one win from the last three games. Samson and co. struggle in middle-order batting continues as they are relying heavily on a few individuals at the top. Consistency in batting from the key batsmen is another major concern for the royals. Overall RR bowling looks good and they did a good job on batting-friendly pitches. However, RR needs to rectify their mistake and make sure they put a good performance in all aspects of the game when they take on formidable RCB.

RCB franchise led by Virat Kohli would be very content following their team performance in the first three games of the ongoing season. In comparison to last year, both their batting and bowling looks very sorted and overall they got depth in bowling and batting. At the top, Virat Kohli and D Paddikal have done a decent job for RCB’s and the opening duo would be eying for a great partnership against RR. Virat Kohli is one of the best batsmen in cricket and hence onus will be on him to play another impact inning at the top. Kohli scored 482 runs from 21 games against KKR. In the middle order, the inclusion of Glen Maxwell in the RCB squad proved a vital decision and resolved batting woes from last year. The Aussies power-hitter scored a match-winning fifty against SRH & KKR. Maxwell is currently the leading scorer for RCB; scored 176 runs from the last 3 innings at an average of 58.
RCB also got great firepower in the lower order, with the likes of AB de Villers, D Christian and W Sunder into their rank. De Villiers is a very destructive batsman and capable of winning the match on his own; he scored 125 runs at a staggering strike rate of 189 this season. On the bowling front, a pace attack comprising of M Siraj, K Jamieson and H Patel did a fabulous job in earlier games. Particularly, H Patel has shown great skills in death overs and didn’t allow the opposition to score freely. Medium-pacer, H Patel is the leading wicket-taker in the ongoing season with 9 wickets from 3 games including 5 wickets haul against MI. K Jamieson, M Siraj will be the other pacers for RCB.

Rajasthan Royals who had handed the wooden spoon in the previous season looked very desperate to set the record straight in the ongoing season. However, their middle-order worries from the previous season continue. At present with just 2 points from three games, RR currently placed at sixth place on the table. In batting, the Royals are relying heavily on their top-order batsmen like Jos Buttler and Sanju Samson. However, the batting duo has struggled to consistently perform and in the middle-order RR got very less firepower who can win the match on their own. Skipper Sanju Samson had a promising start to the season where he played one of the best knocks in the history of IPL and scored 63 balls 119 which includes 7 sixes and 12 fours opposite KXIP. However, following that, Samson got consecutive failures. In the last game against DC, Buttler got some run under his belt with a knock of 35 balls 49 and he would be hoping to carry on the good form.
In the middle-order, S Dube, R Parag and R Tewatia have played to make an impact and they would be hoping to score some runs and get the confidence. RR would be relying on D Miller and Chris Morris in the middle-order to play some quick runs. On the bowling front, RR pace attack comprising J Unadakat, Mustafizur, C Sakariya and C Morris were remarkable in the previous game. J Unadkat was awarded man of the match for his top bowling spell of 15/3 in 4 overs against DC. C Sakariya was also impressive in his IPL career of just 3 games; he picked 6 wickets and RR’s best bowler so far. He has shown great courage while bowling upfront and in death overs.

The weather forecast in Mumbai on Thursday is mostly sunny and very warm. It is expected to be very humid. Pitches at Wankhede stadium are usually very good for batting and generally, the matches are very high scoring. So we expect it to be another high scoring game with the likes of fire-power in both the teams.
The match will be played at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
Considering the dew factor at Wankhade stadium, batting becomes easy in the second inning. Besides, three of the four games at the venue have been won by the chasing team so far. Hence, teams will look to bowl first after winning the toss and chase the target.
RCB and KKR both teams got great T20 batsmen in their rank hence we expect it to be another thrilling game of cricket. However, RCB’s bowling attack looks more threatening and they got variety in their bowling when compared with KKR. Besides, RCB’s won their last three games played against KKR and currently, momentum is also with Kohli and co. Hence, RCB is likely to carry on the good form and register the third win of the season.
We predict Royal Challengers Bangalore will win this match.
