Can South Africa salvage some pride by winning the third T20I?
We predict, England to win the game against South Africa.
T&Cs apply, 18+
It is difficult for South Africa to find what is going wrong. They are definitely lacking a powerful presence of their all-rounders. But their batting and bowling departments are not clicking as well. SA captain Quinton de Kock is finding it tougher match by match to lead the morally down team.
South Africa went into the 2nd T20I with two changes. Reeza Hendricks and Anrich Nortje came in for van Biljon and Beuran Hendricks. While England opted to go forward with the same team. Batting first SA started really well until the 6th over where Chris Jordan tricked de Kock to throw his wicket. It was just a matter of time for England to restrict SA to 146 after du Plessis got stumped. Thanks to the clever innings from van der Dussen and a fiery knock from George Linde, SA managed to put a respectable total on the board.
Batting second, England started well with Jason Roy and Jos Butler. They suffered a setback when SA spinner Tabrez Shamsi took Buttler and Bairstow in his successive overs. It was world number one David Malan who came to the rescue with a calculated fifty. Though the game was undecided until the last two balls, it never looked like England was losing it.
Looking forward to the third game, South Africa will be heading to find some mojo for the one-day series against the same opponents. Whereas, England doesn’t look like to take the game lightly after winning the series comfortably.

Losing all the T20I series on the home soil, South Africa has hit the low and will be wanting to put a strong performance against England. Bith the games clearly showed the absence of the all-rounder. George Linde took the role of the all-rounder in both games but went wicketless in the second game.
Heavily dependent on de Kock and du Plessis, SA might opt for an unchanged team. Five of the eleven from the team had an amazing IPL with their respective teams. Together they failed to prove the winning combination for the hosts. IPL’s leading wicket-taker Rabada failed with the ball picking only one wicket. Nortje on the other hand went wicketless in the second match.
SA is not looking to change its opening line-up. In the bowling department, Glenton Stuurman might get a debut considering his form in the domestic leagues. Tabrez Shamsi will be an obvious choice to lead the spin department for his 3 wickets in the second T20I. He took the dangerous B’s - Butler, Bairstow, and Ben Stokes to give SA some hopes. Rabada, Nortje, and Ngidi will be fulfilling their 12 overs quota. Ngidi has to work on his length as he went for runs in both the games even after picking a couple of wickets in each.

Everything is going smoothly with the England cricket team. They have won three out of the three T20I they played this year. After an excellent IPL for all of their players, the team has found the right player for each and every place. Those who haven’t played IPL are showing why they deserve their spot except Jason Roy.
Therefore, England might go with some changes for the third and the last T20I of this year. Also, they have an ODI series to look forward to. Some players might be rested keeping that in mind. Though the pool of selection is very small, England can try Moeen Ali for Jason Roy. Reese Topley and Mark Wood can be tried by resting Jofra Archer and Sam Curran. The presence of Tom Curran is sufficient enough to play the role of his brother, Sam. Sam Billings who is going through a poor form should be given a place resting Jos Butler.
Keeping World Cup 2021 in mind, England will try to shuffle their players to avoid any setbacks due to injuries in the future.

The weather at Newlands will be partly cloudy with the temperature will be as high as 19°C to a low of 13°C. The wind will be gusting between 35 km/h to 48 km/h. There are zero chances of any rain or precipitation.
Be it Tests, ODIs, or T20I, the Newlands, Capetown has always given the results. It is one of the very few grounds in South Africa which assists spin bowling. Both teams have a poor record at this venue. Hosts have won only 4 out of 13. While England have won the last game played here. The average 1st innings score is 152 beating the average second innings score by 9 runs.
As stated earlier, pitch offers turn to the spinners in the first innings. Out of 14 games, 7 games have been won by the team batting first while the team batting second has managed to win 6 times.
The team winning the toss should look to bat first here.
England are looking on a roll to win this match as well. They will probably make some changes but still, the momentum is with them and they look set to cash in on it. South Africa would have to do really well to come out from home series loss to defeat this confident English team.
We predict, England to win the game against South Africa.
