Since Pandemic, this will be England’s first tournament outside their home soil. On the other hand, this will be Cricket SA’s first match since pandemic. Both the teams have lost their last game against the same opponent - Australia and will be looking forward to starting the new season on a winning note at Newlands, Capetown.
The series went through a lot of turmoil when CSA’s members refused to recognize the nine-member interim board imposed by the country’s sports minister, Nathi Mthethwa. On 16th November, they finally gave a nod to this board and avoided sanctions from the government. This was a day before the English team’s arrived in South Africa for the 10-day mandatory quarantine period. The three-matches T20I series will kick-off from 27th November at Newlands, Capetown.

South Africa will be walking on the ground after a gap of 265 days. They last played their international game on 7th March 2020 against Australia. CSA has come up with a 24-man squad for the T20I & ODI series against England. Captained by Quinton de Kock, the SA team comprises 5 spinners with slower subcontinental pitches of ICC T20I World Cup 2021 in mind.
Kagiso Rabada, Lungi Ngidi, and Anrich Nortje who had a great season with the ball in IPL are included in the squad. Faf du Plessis will also join the squad after returning from PSL. It will be great to see how these biggies will continue their form.
David Miller will lead the middle order with Henrich Klaasen and Rassie van der Dussen. While Andie Phehlukwayo and Dwaine Pretorius will boost the all-rounder department under the absence of injured Chris Morris. CSA has given Glenton Stuurman his first international call-up for white-ball cricket. After losing back to back T20I series at home, South Africa will be looking forward to winning this match to put a strong contention for the upcoming world cup.
Key players: Quinton de Kock, Faf Du Plessis, Kagiso Rabada, Anrich Nortje

England are going to face South Africa with a squad of 15 players. Though Eoin Morgan had a difficult spell captaining Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League, he will be happy leading the few prolific players from this IPL including Jofra Archer, Ben Stokes, Jos Buttler, and Chennai Super King’s heart Sam Curran.
It will be difficult for the English team to choose their openers. Everybody is keeping an eye on who is going to open with Jos Buttler to anchor the innings. Both Jason Roy and Jonny Bairstow had a difficult season with the bat. The world no.1 T20I batsman Dawid Malan will team up with Morgan and Ben Stokes in the middle order. The England side has found another all-rounder in Sam Curran who will have an upper hand against his brother Tom. In an intra-team game, he came up with a strong batting performance hitting 45 runs in just 18 balls with 3 sixes and 4 fours.
The bowling department will be led by none other than the speedster Jofra Archer. He had an astonishing IPL playing for Rajasthan Royals. He will have a helping hand from Chris Jordan who has not missed a single T20I game for England since 2015. The spin department will be handled by Adil Rashid and Moeen Ali. England have not lost a T20I series this year. They will try to keep their winning record with the most prolific squad.
Key players: Jos Butler, Jofra Archer, Ben Stokes, Eoin Morgan

The weather at Newlands will be a pleasant blend of cloudy and breezy in the evening. The temperature will be as high as 25°C to a low of 15°C. The wind will be gusting between 43 km/h to 48 km/h. There are zero chances of any rain or precipitation.
Be it Tests, ODIs, or T20I, the Newlands, Capetown has always given the results. It is one of the very few grounds in South Africa which assists spin bowling. Both teams have a poor record at this venue. England have won a single game out of the 4 they played here. While hosts have won only 4 out of 12.
As stated earlier, pitch offers turn to the spinners in the first innings. Out of 21 games played here, the team batted second has won 13 while the team batted second has won 7. But the last 3 out of the 4 games have been won by the team batting first and the other got tied between SA and Sri Lanka. The average 1st innings score is 151 beating the average second innings score by 10 runs.
The team winning the toss should look to bat first here.
Both teams will be high on the performances shown by their key players in the IPL. But it is the English side looking dominant over the host. The batting and bowling depth of the England team is better than the SA team. The recent record for SA does not look good and England, on the other hand, has had success in the recent past and looks a much-settled side.
We predict England to be emerge victorious against South Africa.
