Match Preview

Host South Africa will be keen to make a strong comeback and level the ODI series when they take on Pakistan in the second game at Johannesburg on Sunday.

In the series opener played at Centurion, Pakistan registered a hard-fought win over South Africa, courtesy splendid century from Babar Azam. With this result, Pakistan have taken 1-0 lead in the three-match ODI series.

In the opening fixture, the top-order crumbled in the initial Powerplay overs before Rassie van der Dussen led the fightback for South Africa.

In the batting department, the side will be depending on the likes of Quinton de Kock, Temba Bavuma and Rassie van der Dussen to do the bulk of the scoring in this must-win game.

The 26-year old looked in imperious form and smashed 17 boundaries in his innings. He was well supported by opener Imam-ul-Haq, who smashed a well-timed half-century.

Wicket-keeper Mohammad Rizwan and bowling all-rounder Shadab Khan delivered crucial runs to help Pakistan complete the chase in the final over of the innings.

In the bowling department, the likes of Shaheen Shah Afridi and Mohammad Hasnain bowled well and picked three wickets in the Powerplay overs. All-rounder Faheem Ashraf was the mot economical bowler on display for Pakistan in the previous game.
