Deflated Pakistan women seek to stay alive in the T20I series

Host South Africa women will be looking to clinch the T20I series when they take on Pakistan in the second game at Kingsmead Cricket Ground in Durban on Sunday.
In the opening game of the series, South Africa comfortably brushed aside by Pakistan by eight wickets, courtesy excellent performances from Marizanne Kapp, Tazmin Brits and Shabnim Ismail. With this result, South Africa women have taken 1-0 lead in the three-match T20I series.
On the other hand, Pakistan’s top-order woes continued as they once again lost too many wickets in the initial Powerplay overs. Captain Javeria Khan will be hoping that the side can put in an improved batting performance in this contest.

Laura Wolvaardt came to the crease in the 16th over and smashed unbeaten 15 runs off 10 balls to help South Africa women complete the chase in the penultimate overs of the innings

Captain Javeria Khan suffered from finger injury and missed the opening game of the T20I series. The team management will be hoping that Javeria Khan can be fit in time for this game.
For Pakistan women, Ayesha Naseem delivered a breathtaking performance. She played well and finished the innings with the top-score of 31 runs off 25 balls with the help of two fours.
Besides Ayesha, Kainat Imtiaz scored 24 runs off 23 balls with the help of two fours, whereas all-rounder Nida Dar continued her excellent form and chipped in with 22 runs off 15 balls.
In the bowling department, the onus will be on the likes of Diana Baig, Aiman Anwer and Anam Amin to make crucial breakthroughs. In the opening fixture, Aiman Anwer was the best bowler on display for Pakistan women and claimed 2 for 29 in her four overs.
