The 7th match of the CPL 2020 will be played between St Kitts and Nevis Patriots and St Lucia Zouks on 22nd August. Patriots had a disappointing start to a CPL 2020 as they lost the initial two games of the ongoing league. Their star batsmen comprising of Chris Lynn, Even Lewis, and Ramdin has failed to live up to the expectation. on the other hand, bowlers did a decent job in the last game in the effort of defending a lower score. Patriots got great batsmen in their ranks and the team would be hoping for a better contribution from them. R Emrit-led Patriots will aim for better performance in all the departments and open their account in CPL2020.
On the other hand, St Lucia Zouks following a defeat in their opening game of the CPL 2020, managed to be victorious in the rain-interrupted second game and logged their first victory of the season. And there is never a better way to be doing it than bullying 2019 CPL champion. Bowlers did an outstanding job in the first inning before rain interrupted the game and later batsmen did their job outstandingly. Mohammed Nabi's all-rounder performance helped him get the Man of the match award. St Lucia Zouks rather one of the underachiever teams in the history of CPL will be aiming to keep the momentum and register the consecutive win.

Patriots who had a decent season of CPL2019 where they were ended the season as a third-best team, failed to deliver similar performance in CPL2002. Patriots had a poor outing in their first two games of CPL2020 against Barbados Tridents and Guyana Amazon Warriors respectively. In the first game against Tridents, chasing the score of 153, Patriots were short of 6 runs whereas in the second game batting heavy side managed to put just 127 on the boards.
The opening pair of Chris Lynn and Even got a good start in both the games however they failed to convert into a match-winning knock. They are Patriots principal players and the onus will be on them to provide a solid platform at the top. Batting duo had a first wicket partnership of 30 and 17 in the previous two games. In the middle order, Ben Dunk has shown some intent in both the games, scored 34 and 29 runs. However, he would be hoping to convert the start into a big knock and make sure teams gets to a great total. The team would be hoping for some contribution from D Ramdin and J Hamilton in the middle overs.
Pace bowling unit comprising of Cottrell and skipper Emrit did an excellent job. R Emrit is the leading wicket-taker with 5 wickets and Cottrell bagged three wickets from two games. Ish Sodhi is the leading spinner in the bowling unit and he was wickless in the previous game. But the Kiwis bowler is very skillful and he would be aiming for a match-winning spell.
Key Players – Chris Lynn, Ben Dunk, Sheldon Cottrell
St Lucia Zouks after two points from their first two games are currently placed in third place in the point table. In their first game against Jamaica Tallawahs, Zouks put a decent score of 158 on the board, however batting heavy Tallawahs chased the scored easily. Whereas in the second game, bowlers came back outstandingly and restrict the opponent on 131 from 18.1 overs before the rain interrupted the game. Later, Zouks chased the target of 47 from 5 overs very comfortably with 5 balls to spare. Mohammed Nabi was awarded man of the match for his 6 balls 15 runs and one wicket.
In batting, Zouks are relying heavily on their key batsmen Andre Fletcher, R Cornwall, and Rostan Chase to score the bulk of the runs. Either one of them has to play throughout the inning to ensure Zouks gets to a good total or chase any score. Andre Fletcher holds a great record against Patriots; scored 234 runs at a strike rate of 132.20. He will be aiming to carry on the good form against the opponent team. Last year top performer for Zouks, R Cornwall will be aiming to go beyond 20-30’s score mark. In the middle overs, Windies all-rounder Rostan chase looks solid. He is a good player of spin and pace, likes to hit the balls. Chase scored 52 from 42 balls in the first game versus Tallawahs.
In the bowling department, Kesrick Williams bowled remarkably in the previous two games; picked three wickets and was also economical. The bowling unit needs to be very disciplined and smart against a batting heavy Patriots team. Leading pace bowler Kuggeleijn went for plenty in both games and he needs to use the variation to control the runs.
Key Players – Andre Fletcher, Mohammed Nabi, Roston Chase

The weather will be partly cloudy with a couple of showers and thunderstorms.
The match will be played at Brian Lara Stadium in Tarouba, Trinidad.
Considering the weather conditions and format of the game, both teams will like to chase the score. Besides, from the earlier six games played at this venue, five games were won by a chasing team and only game while defending the score.
Hence, the team winning the toss would like to bowl first.
Though St Kitts and Nevis Patriots lost earlier both the games, their batting unit looks quite formidable and besides got great bowlers in their ranks. On the contrary, St Lucia Zouks will be relying heavily on their key players and in the middle order batting, they lack firepower. Also, statistically, Patriots hold the upper hand opposite Zouks.
We predict that St Kitts and Nevis Patriots will win this match.
