Host Sri Lanka aim to avoid whitewash against buoyant England
Expect England to complete 2-0 clean sweep over Sri Lanka in Test series.

Host Sri Lanka will be desperate to get back to winning ways when they take on England in the second game of the Test series at Galle International Cricket Stadium.
Before the start of the series, everyone expected Sri Lanka to put on a strong fight but the first Test turned out to be one-sided affair with England registering a comfortable seven wicket win at Galle.
The home side produced a farcical batting performance in their first innings and will need to put in an improved batting performance for the final game of the series. Captain Dimuth Karunaratne will be hoping to get fit in time for the final Test. Sri Lankans are expected to make changes to their playing XI for this game.
On the other hand, England produced a clinical performance to register a seven wicket win in the opening Test at Galle International Cricket Stadium. The visitors will go with the same playing XI for this final game of the series.

The side will be desperate to turn things around after losing their third Test on the bounce.
The team management will be hoping that Dimuth Karunaratne can lead the side for this final game.
The home side might drop Kusal Mendis and might bring in Minod Bhanuka or Roshen Silva into the playing XI.
In the batting department, the side will be relying on experienced players like Angelo Matthews, Lahiru Thiramanne and Kusal Perera to deliver the bulk of the runs. After being dismissed for 135 runs in their first inning, Kusal Perera and Lahiru Thiramanne played exceedingly well and put on a 101-run partnership for the opening wicket.
In the second innings, Lahiru Thiramanne notched up his second Test century and finished the innings with the top-score of 111 runs off 251 balls with the help of twelve boundaries. He was well supported by Kusal Perera, who chipped in with 62 runs off 109 balls with the help of five fours and one six.
All-rounder Angelo Matthews also showed excellent application in the second innings and scored 71 runs off 219 balls with the help of four boundaries.
In the bowling department, the onus will be on the spin trio of Lasith Embuldeniya, Dilruwan Perera and Wanindu Hasaranga to make crucial breakthroughs.
However, Embuldeniya and Perera bowled well and claimed five wickets apiece.

For England, things went according to plans in the first game of the series played at Galle.
In the first Test, Captain Joe Root led from the front with the bat and smashed a brilliant 228 runs to help England post 421 runs in the first innings.
The opening pair of Zak Crawley and Dominic Sibley failed to make an impact and perished for low scores in both the innings.
Jonny Bairstow showed decent form with the bat for England in the first Test and produced scores of 47 and 35 not out respectively.
Debutant Daniel Lawrence made quite an impressive in his first game for England. He played exceedingly well in the first innings and put on a 173-run partnership with Joe Root to help England push their score beyond 400 runs. He scored 73 runs off 150 balls with the help of six fours and one six.
The visitors will certainly go with for another spinner in the playing XI. Moeen Ali might come in place of either Mark Wood or Stuart Broad, which means the England will go with combination with two pacers and three spinners.

With rain expected to take place in the first three days, the quick bowlers might get some movement with the new-ball. Spinners will definitely into play from Day 3 onwards in the game.

On the other hand, England have managed to win four matches on the trot in Sri Lanka and will be looking to inflict their second consecutive whitewash on the Islanders.
Both the teams will be looking to win the toss and bowl first. Make first use of the surface will the most preferred option in this Test.
Based on current form, England will be firm favorites to win the second Test against Sri Lanka. With Joe Root producing a brilliant double ton followed by excellent bowling performances from Stuart Broad, Dom Bess and Jack Leach, England will be looking to deliver another flawless performance in this game.
