The final match in the league stage of KPL 2019 will be played between Bijapur Bulls and Shivamogga Lions. Before this match starts the fate of the top four will be mostly decided until something dramatic happens.
Shivamogga Lions who were confident enough to go to the qualifiers after securing 3 wins from their first 3 matches, find themselves in a spot of bother after getting defeated by huge margins in their two previous encounters. The Lions in their previous game against the Belagavi Panthers were put in to bat by the opposition. Ullal departed early for just 4 runs and captain Abhimanyu looked good for his 17-ball 22. The opener Arjun Hoysala joined hands with Pavan Deshpande and they built a 106-run partnership between them. Deshpande was the aggressor of the two as he finished with 59 off 35 balls. Both got dismissed quickly, as the Lions struggled to clear ropes and managed to score 175. It is their bowling woes that continued as they looked clueless against Stallion Hoover. Lions became the first team in the KPL history to concede back to back centuries and their bowlers looked down and out with their long hops and full tosses. Manish Pandey played second fiddle as the pair chased the target with 5 overs to spare.
Meanwhile, batting woes continued for the Bijapur Bulls as they failed to reach the 150-run mark yet again in this tournament. There was no substantial partnership from their top-order as the skipper Chipli ran out of partners as they slipped to 94/6. Bhareth NP lifted the hopes of the Bulls with a quickfire 35 off 18 balls as they finished the innings with 136/8. Naveen MG struck twice in the powerplay and reduced the Panthers to 15/2 inside the 3 overs. Panthers did not panic as they managed to build partnerships between Samarth, Dikshanshu and Abhinav Manohar. Samarth stayed till the end with an unbeaten 50, handing the Bulls their second straight defeat and ending their qualifying dreams.

It is high time the skipper Abhimanyu Mithun's side to step up their bowling line up with an impressive spell. They look down and out after the hammering they received from Krishnappa Gowtham, Hoover and Pandey. Mithun would love to adopt strategy this time around against a relatively weaker batting line up. Batting department doesn’t seem to be hampered by this bowling low. Hoysala bated throughout and scored 77 off 58. They will finish in the second spot if they manage to win a match and get an additional opportunity to play the finals. They can qualify even if they lose and finish in the third or fourth spot until the warriors come up with some magic against the tuskers.
Key Players:
Abhimanyu Mithun: The skipper should boost the team’s morale by hitting the right lengths. He must use his spinners effectively and opt a different strategy this time around. His batting form is a great plus and he will hope it rubs to his bowling.
Pavan Deshpande: While his off-breaks have struggled to hit the right areas in the pitch, the balls are finding the middle off his bat as he has an aggregate of 100 from his previous two games. His last two scores are 59 of 35 & 46 of 36 respectively.

Bulls are knocking the exit doors, as they have remote chances of qualifying. They can qualify only if the 3.00 PM match between the Hubli Tigers and Bengaluru Blasters gets washed out and they secure a win in the 7.00 PM match against the Lions. But the team will look to end the League on a high note after the disappointment performance so far. Chipli will look to test his bench strength and end the series on a positive note.
Key Players:
Chipli: The consistent player for the bulls has already scored 214 runs in the tournament. He will look to continue his rich vein of form and give a good match for their supporters.
Bharath NP: The right-arm medium pacer looked good with the limited opportunities given. He had an impressive strike rate close to 200 in his 35 runs. He bowled three tidy overs conceding 21 runs. He needs to do much more for his team to secure a win

The weather looks clear and we can expect a complete match. Run scoring has not been an issue in this ground and we can expect another high scoring encounter.
With the chase percentage high in the Sikantadatta Narasimha Raja Wadiyar Ground, Team winning the Toss would love to chase targets rather than setting them.
Lions would love to bowl first, as they had a disappointing outing with the ball in their last two games. Nice game for the Lions bowlers to get into the rhythm as the Bulls completely struggle to put decent scores. Lions would love to have this win to take that momentum to play-offs.
We are backing Shivamogga Lions for the win in this game!
