T&Cs apply, 18+
It is the 18th game in the Vincy Premier League 2020 and the battle doesn’t get any bigger as the table-toppers Salt Pond Breakers would be taking on the La Soufriere Hikers who are just below them in the points table.
The Breakers won the last game comfortably against the Dark View Explorers while the La Soufriere Hikers registered a win against the Grenadine Divers in their previous game. The two teams had earlier met in the tournament where the Breakers had won the game by a comfortable margin of 49 runs and shall carry that confidence into this game. The Hikers haven’t been far behind as they have displayed great skills in all the other games they have played.
Given the form of the two sides this is expected to be one of the best contests in the tournament so far.

Sunil Ambris’ side has earned a place for itself in the semi-finals of the season after their fifth consecutive win in the last game. They defeated the Dark View Explorers by 8 wickets in a one-sided game. Ambris would know that his side would be playing one of their toughest games and expect a good show from them.
Sunil Ambris and Kadir Nedd have played well in the last few games especially the skipper who is stroking the ball beautifully and shall look to continue with his good run. Urnel Thomas has also been hitting the ball well and with players like Donwell Hector and Javid Harry in the side they will be looking to put up a big total on the board once again.
Their bowlers are constantly bowling economical spells in the tournament so far and Wesrick Strough has been the leading wicket-taker in the tournament. Ambris and Donwell Hector have also bowled well. Beniton Stapleton and Javid Harry complete a good bowling line-up for the side.
It was a good show from Desron Maloney’s side in the last game as they held their nerves in the final overs to register an impressive win against the Grenadine Divers. The 10-run win has nearly assured them a place in the semifinal and they would be looking at a win against a stronger opponent in the next game which will do a world of good to their confidence.
Openers Salvan Browne and Dillon Douglas missed out in the last game but they will look to do well in the next one. Tilran Harry, Dean Browne, and Cosmus Hackshaw played well in the last game and make a formidable middle order for the side. Desron Maloney down the order with his hitting abilities adds to the strength of the team.
Othneil Lewis and Jeremy Haywood are bowling well for the side and the skipper would look for a good start with the new ball from them. The likes of Dillon Douglas, Dean Browne, and Kenson Dalzell will look to contain the strong batting line-up that the Salt Pond Breakers have.

The weather forecast for May 27 suggests that the skies would be partly cloudy and bowlers are likely to get some seam movement in the early overs. Batting won’t be difficult as the pitch has been a good one to bat on and the side batting first will target of a score of 100 runs or more.
It’s a small outfield at the Arnos Vale Sporting Complex, St. Vincent and this helps the batsmen free their arms easily. There is some assistance for the fast bowlers early on and spinners have done well thanks to the double-paced nature of the surface. Batsmen who hold their crease do well at this venue.
There has been a trend of sorts in the last nine games where the side that has batted first has won all the games. It is a good pitch to set up a score and thanks to the format the side batting first has the advantage. In such circumstances we believe the side that wins the toss would elect to bat first on this surface.
It is going to be the mother of all contests we have seen at the Vincy Premier League 2020. The Salt Pond Breakers have looked a team in a league of their own as they have defeated one opponent after another winning all their games so far. The La Soufriere Hikers have won all but one game with their only defeat come against the Breakers. The two sides match up well but the Salt Pond Breakers thanks to their strong batting line-up shall start favorites in this game.
