Salt Pond Breakers

Sunil Ambris’ side has definitely been on a roll throughout the season and they continued their good form in the semi-final against the Grenadines Divers which they won by 5 wickets. Their middle order was challenged for the first time in this contest and it rose to the occasion. As the side takes on the Hikers in this all important game Ambris would like to see a spirited performance from his side. Sunil Ambris and Kadir Nedd failed in the last game but they have been in brilliant form throughout. The side will look for a good start from them. Donwell Hector at No. 3 will need to steer the innings while Urnel Thomas’ hitting abilities adds to their batting strength. Beniton Stapleton came to the party in the last game down the order, and along with Rickford Walker completes a very good batting line-up for the side. It was good to see Delorn Johnson bowl tight lines in the last game and he shall look to repeat the same in the next game. Wesrick Strough and Ambris have been the pick of the bowlers for the side and the former is the leading wicket taker of the season. The side will want to see tight spells from Javid Harry and Jeremy Layne against the hard hitting batting line-up that the Hikers have.

Salt Pond Breakers Predicted Playing XI

Sunil Ambris (c), Kadir Nedd, Donwell Hector, Urnel Thomas, Rickford Walker, Beniton Stapleton, Delorn Johnson, Seon Sween, Jeremy Layne, Javid Harry, Wesrick Strough

La Soufriere Hikers

Desron Maloney would be extremely happy with the way his side played in the semifinal against the Botanic Garden Rangers. On the way to their 33-run win in the game the side also registered the highest score of the season. Maloney would be aware of the big challenge in the upcoming game and shall want his players to come out positively and win the game. Salvan Browne played a great knock in the last game and is the highest run getter in the tournament. He will look to provide a good start in company of Dean Browne. The star of the last game was Dillon Douglas with his 18 ball 58 that included 7 sixes. They have good strength down the order with players like Maloney, Cosmus Hackshaw and Camano Cain and it will be interesting to see how they bat against the strong attack that Breakers have. Othneil Lewis and Jeremy Haywood have been the best bowlers for the side with the latter helping his side to a win in the last game. The side will need a good effort from them in the next game. The lines of Kenson Dalzell and Kimson Dalzell shall have to bowl tight lines and provide no room to the good hitters that they will be up against.

La Soufriere Hikers Predicted Playing XI

Desron Maloney (c), Salvan Browne, Dillon Douglas, Othneil Lewis, Dean Browne, Kimson Dalzell, Jeremy Haywood, Kenson Dalzell, Cosmus Hackshaw, Tilran Harry, Camano Cain

The weather forecast for May 31 at St. Vincent looks good. The sides would be clear with odd clouds and this will offer the perfect setting for a big final. The track would be a good one to bat on though, the fast bowlers would get nice bounce and carry. It is a high pressure game and the side that bats first would be happy with a score in the range of 100-110 runs.

Venue Details

Arnos Vale Sporting Complex, St. Vincent has had the boundary ropes pulled in for this tournament and this has allowed the batsmen to play their strokes. There is some assistance for the fast bowlers early on in the game and the spinners are able to make the odd ball turn and bounce sharply on this surface.

Toss Prediction

It will be a battle of nerves in this game and the side that chases the score would have a big pressure upon itself. With good weather conditions the pitch would be a good one to bat on early in the innings. The side that wins the toss in this game would like to bat first and apply pressure on the opponents with a big score on the board.

Winning Prediction

There isn’t much to choose between the two sides as the road to the finals for both of them has followed a similar trajectory. The Salt Pond Breakers have a very strong batting line-up at the top which has fired in most of the games in this tournament. Their bowlers have played a complementary role. The La Soufriere Hikers have a great bowling line-up but it is in the batting department that they are dependent on a couple of players to win them games. This is the reason we believe the Salt Pond Breakers would start slightly ahead in the next game.
