In the match 20th of the IPL 2021, David Warner’s Sunrisers Hyderabad will take on Risabh Pant’s Delhi Capital at Chennai on Sunday. Sunrisers Hyderabad one of the most consistent teams in IPL has an awful start to the IPL 2021 and before the last games, they lost all three games and found themselves at an unfamiliar place on the point table. However, Warner and co finally manage to break the shackle and get their first win of the season opposite Punjab Kings. With 2 points from four games and negative NRR, SRH is at 6th place on the table. But, it will be another challenge for SRH when they take on in-form Capitals, and they will be hoping for clinical performance and get a second win of the season.
On the other hand, IPL 2020 runner-up team Delhi Capitals’ is playing consistently good cricket and looks like a difficult team to beat. With three wins from four games, the Capitals are currently placed at third place on the table. Capital’s opening batsman Sikhar Dhawan is in remarkable form and scoring at an average of 57.75 with 231 runs from four games. He was the key architect for SRH success this season. Pant and co record against SRH is not great but they will be aiming for the win and set the record straight.

Sunrisers Hyderabad has played consistently good cricket in the last few years and they have been one of the toughest team to beat. However, the Hyderabad based franchise had an unlikable start to the IPL 2021 as they could win just one from the first four games which includes a few hurting defeats while chasing against MI and RCB which was suppose to be an easy win. In the last game against Punjab Kings, Surisers Hyderbad end their three-match losing streak with a convincing win by 9 wickets. Bowlers did a fantastic job to restrict Kings to a score of just 120 and in the chase SRH opening pair of Warner and Bairstow came out all gun blazing and scored 50 in the powerplay. For SRH, in batting, Warner and Bairstow looked formidable as always and they are scoring with a great strike rate. Notably, Warner is the only batsman who has scored 500+ run for consecutive four years. In the previous year as well, with 548 runs, Warner was the highest run-scorer for SRH and third-best batsman of the previous edition. Warner and Bairstow is the most destructive opening pair in IPL and the biggest threat for any opponent. J Bairstow is the leading scorer for SRH with 173 runs from 4 matches.
SRH middle-order also strengthens with the inclusion of Kiwis great Kane Willamson as he missed out on initial games due to injury. He is a vital cog in the SRH batting line-up and his good form will be very crucial for SRH to win many more games. V Shankar, A Sharma, V Singh will be the other batsmen in SRH. In the bowling, usually, SRH bowling attack is one of the best but the pace trio of B Kumar, S Sharma and K Ahmed looked ordinary and failed to pick wickets. Rashid Khan, one of the ICC top-ranked T20I bowlers will lead the spin department. Rashid Khan is a big match-winner and certainly a player to watch out for in any contest. In the previous three games, Rashid bowled with the best economy of just 5.06.

IPL 2020 finalist team, Delhi Capital is playing good cricket in all the aspects of the game and once again got a good start to their campaign. With three wins from four games, they are strongly placed on 3rd on the table. DC is unlikely to make any changes in the playing eleven and would like to stick to the winning combination. In batting. Seasoned campaigner Sikhar Dhawan is in astonishing form and single-handedly winning matches for his team. After the 17th game in the ongoing season, Dhawan is the leading scorer in IPL 2021 with 231 runs from 4 matches at a strike rate of 140. He will be hoping to carry on the good form and play another match-winning knock. His opening partner, P Shaw also played an impact knock in the earlier games, however, he will be aiming to convert the initial start to a big inning. In the middle-order, skipper Risabh Pant would be hoping to play some impact knock on the slow track at Chennai.
Capital’s middle-order has not tested much so far this season due to the contribution from top-order. M Stoinis, S Hetmyer and L Yadav form the middle-order for Delhi Capitals. They got both fire-power and consistency in the batting. In the bowling department, pace attack comprising of K Rabada and A Khan did a splendid job for Capitals. Notably, A Khan was impressive and currently the leading wicket-taker for Delhi with 8 wickets from 4 matches. In the last match, veteran leg-spinner A Mishra was remarkable and went through MI’s top-order batting. He was awarded man of the match for his great spell of 4 for 24 in his 4-overs spell. The spin duo of Ashwin and Mishra can be very effective at the turning track in Chennai.

The weather forecast in Chennai on Sunday is mostly sunny and very warm. It is expected to be very humid. The spinners are likely to get more help from the track than the pacers. 246 is the highest first inning score at this venue and 160 is the average first inning score.
The match will be played at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
The Chennai pitch has proven difficult to chase so far, and the toss could play a critical role once again. Chepauk has been batting first track this season as five out of eight games this season were won by batting first team. The records are strongly in favour of batting first team and hence both the team will look to bat first after winning the toss and score good first-inning runs.
Sunrisers Hyderabad is a very formidable side despite losing the first three games and they got some serious firepower in the rank. Besides, they have played few matches at this venue this season so SRH is better aware of playing condition than Delhi Capitals who played just one game at this venue. Statistically as well, SRH holds very good records playing opposite DC. Hence, SRH is likely to get the second win of the season.
We predict Sunrisers Hyderabad will win this match.
