T&Cs apply, 18+
It is the 11th match of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 and two Asian giants would lock horns at Country Ground, Bristol. Sri Lanka comes into this game after winning their last game against Afghanistan which they nearly threw away with some mindless batting in the middle. Pakistan would be confident about this game as they defeated tournament favorites England in their last game.
The recent record between the two sides is in favor of the Pakistanis as they have won the last eight out of ten games that have been played between the two sides. Sri Lanka has been on a downhill over the last two years where they have been inconsistent and it would be interesting to see if they can with this one against Pakistan.

Dimuth Karunaratne would have thanked his stars to have won the last game against Afghanistan. Batting order collapse seems to be following them wherever they go. The side lost their last 9 wickets for mere 57 runs in a span of 15 overs. Though their bowlers pulled it off with good bowling the Pakistani side is going to be a tough one to beat and the side needs to improve its performance.
Dimuth Karunaratne and Kusal Perera did well in the last game and they were the only players who had put up a fight against New Zealand in the first game. Everybody else is looking in the awful form at the moment. The team management would want the likes of Lahiru Thirimanne, Kusal Mendis, Angelo Mathews and Dhananjaya de Silva to spend some time at the wicket and build partnerships as this has been the major problem area for the side.
The Sri Lanka bowlers came back strong in the last game after having been hammered by the Kiwis. Nuwan Pradeep bowled an incredible spell in the last game to win it for his side. Lasith Malinga and Suranga Lakmal also bowled well at the start and the skipper would like to see better efforts from Thisara Perera and Isuru Udana in the next game.
Lahiru Thirimanne, Dimuth Karunaratne (c), Kusal Perera (wk), Kusal Mendis, Angelo Mathews, Dhananjaya de Silva, Thisara Perera, Isuru Udana, Nuwan Pradeep, Suranga Lakmal, Lasith Malinga
Sarfaraz Ahmed’s side finally has the monkey off their back with a win in their last game against England which came after 11 consecutive losses for the side in ODIs. They batted well in the last game though their bowlers still struggled. With Sri Lanka not being in the best of form, the Pakistani skipper would see this as an opportunity to earn their next points in the tournament.
Openers Imam-ul-Haq and Fakhar Zaman gave a good start to the side in the last game and they are looking in good form. After the disastrous batting effort in the first game, the Pakistani middle order fired in the last game. Babar Azam, Mohammad Hafeez and Sarfaraz Ahmed did well with the bat. With Asif Ali and Shoaib Malik in the lower order, they have good strength in their batting.
Though their bowlers managed to win the game against England they gave away 334 runs and the skipper would want them to tie the loose ends. Hasan Ali and Shadab Khan bowled well but Mohammad Amir isn't looking in the best of form at the moment. Wahab Riaz is leaking too many runs and has to bowl in the right areas to support bowlers at the other end.
Shoaib Malik, Mohammad Hafeez, Sarfaraz Ahmed (c & wk), Wahab Riaz, Mohammad Amir, Babar Azam, Imam-ul-Haq, Asif Ali, Fakhar Zaman, Shadab Khan, Hasan Ali
There are predictions for rains at Bristol on June 07 and the weather is expected to remain overcast which will work to the advantage of the bowlers. The surface is, however, a good one to bat on as we have seen over the last few years and the side batting first would need a score of around 300 runs to win it.
Venue
County Ground Bristol is a good batting surface where batsmen can play through the line. The shorter square boundaries also make it a good place to play the lofted shot. The bowlers need to make use of the early conditions to put the batting side under pressure and prevent them from putting up a big total on the board.

After their disastrous performance against New Zealand, Sri Lanka bounced back to win their last game against Afghanistan after a dismal show with the bat. Pakistan too had a bad outing against West Indies but did well against tournament favorites England in their last game. Pakistan definitely has a more stable batting line-up and also a bowling attack that has lots of variety going into this game and this makes them favorites to win it.
