BBL 2019-20 has almost reached the half-way mark with the 25th match being played between Hobart Hurricanes and Brisbane Heat in what promises to be a mind-boggling encounter for the cricketing fraternity across the globe.
Brisbane Heat won their second match of the season against an equally formidable Hobart Hurricanes, courtesy the top-notch exhibitions from skipper Chris Lynn (55-ball 88*) and opener Max Bryant (36-ball 65) and will continue to forge ahead with the winning momentum at Sydney Showground Stadium.
Meanwhile, Sydney Thunder tasted a defeat in their last T20 against Melbourne Stars and is likely to render a solid performance in the upcoming duel. The previous match between the competing sides witnessed the Thunder squashing the Heat by a margin of 29 runs, however, one can't predict a similar outcome in the upcoming bout considering both the teams look potent in their second faceoff of the season.

In the middle order, Alex Ross played an impressive 32-ball 40 in the last outing and is likely to opt for a similar style of play versus Chris Lynn's men.
In the bowling department, Daniel Sams (12 wickets in 6 innings) has been terrific in the powerplays with his variations in his line and length. The left-arm grabbed figures of 4-1-25-3 in their last match against Melbourne Stars and will be backed to come up with a similar display in Sydney. Chris Morris (8 wickets in 4 innings) has been lethal with his off-cutters and dominated the Sixers with figures of 2/24 in the recent encounter. Spinner Arjun Nair (6 wickets in 4 innings) has been effective so far and with pacer Nathan McAndrew will look to tear through the middle-order at Showground Stadium.

Heavy showers are being predicted at Sydney Showground Stadium with sure-shot interruptions in both the innings. Bowlers won't have much in control as the batsmen would look to bash every delivery for a hit across the stadium if the DLS method kicks in.
Batters will be in advantage in the latter half as in case the play resumes, they will have smaller targets to chase. Clear strikers of the ball from both the teams will play crucial roles in the much-coveted encounter.
Batters will be in advantage in the latter half as in case the play resumes, they will have smaller targets to chase. Clear strikers of the ball from both the teams will play crucial roles in the much-coveted encounter.
It would be ideal for the toss winning team to bowl first as there are strong chances for the rain to play a spoilsport in the coming game. Thus, the team batting second will have an advantage as the DLS method will come into play.
Although Brisbane Heat has had their share of ups and downs so far, they still possess the firepower capable of winning matches from crunch situations. With their current form, stellar record at this venue, and overall head to head against Thunder, one could bank on the Men in Blue to turn the tides in their favor in the upcoming T20.
