Both Sydney Thunder and Perth Scorchers suffered defeats in the recent outing and would be anxious to score a triumph in the upcoming game in Sydney. Hosts Thunder had a terrific run in the first half but lost the momentum somewhere in between.
In spite of possessing the quartet of Usman Khwaja, Alex Ross, Alex Hales and Daniel Sams, the Thunder have been unable to get past the winning margins. They have lost four games in a row, and would possibly look to avoid a fifth if they are wishing to keep their campaign alive this season.
Meanwhile, Perth Scorchers would look to go full throttle as they have a chance of bagging higher spots in the points table. While the top-order looks settled and performed to the potential in the last outing, it is their middle-order that couldn’t do much in the last outing, something they would look to better in the upcoming match.

Alex Hales (402 runs in 13 innings) has scored the bulk of runs for the Thunder in the ongoing edition of BBl. He was the highest run-scorer in the previous contest versus Hurricanes wherein he scored 42-ball 63 with 5-fours and 4-sixes. Skipper Callum Ferguson (326 runs in 13 innings) and Alex Ross (275 runs in 11 innings) have been phenomenal whilst batting in the middle-order and would be the key players in case the top-order collapses at petty total. In the bowling department, Daniel Sams (24 wickets in 13 innings) has grabbed the most number of wickets in BBL 2019-20.
In fact, Sams was in a terrific nick in the lately concluded match against Hurricanes wherein he scalped 4/34 to his name. Spinner Arjun Nair (3/19) was among the most economical bowlers in the last outing and would be expected to deliver those unplayable off-breaks and doosra. Chris Morris (14 wickets in 11 innings) has had successes majorly in the powerplays and will play a crucial role for the Thunder in his initial spell.

Openers Josh Inglis( 387 runs in 13 innings) and Liam Livingstone (405 runs in 13 innings) are among the top five leading run-getters in BBL 2019-20. Livingstone scored a quickfire 79 in the recent outing against Adelaide Strikers and will look to emulate a similar show at Sydney Showground Stadium.
Skipper Mitchell Marsh (371 runs in 13 innings) has scored the chunk of runs in the middle-order and would be expected to lead upfront in the must-win feud. Ashton Turner and Cameron Bancroft haven’t been at the best this season, however, one could expect them to come up with impressionable exhibitions. The trio of Fawad Ahmed (14 wickets in 13 innings), Chris Jordan (15 wickets in 13 innings), and Jhye Richardson (14 wickets in 13 innings) have been effective in this season throughout and will be banked upon to tear through the rival lineup.

It will be a mostly sunny day with the temperature hovering between 24-26 degrees Celsius. Bowlers would have to try out some variations in order to get the breakthroughs amidst these conditions.
The wicket at Sydney Showground Stadium is a batters paradise with 170+ scores on numerous occasions. With both the teams possessing hard-hitters, one could expect a belter of a contest in the coming T20.
The toss winning team should look to bowl first on this wicket. Batsmen would be in for entertainment as the average 1st innings score offered is 160. The bright and sunny weather would offer great help to the batters as there won’t be much seam and swing movement.
Perth Scorchers would be favorites in the coming contest. They possess a comparatively lethal batting and bowling lineup capable of turning the tide in their favor.
Moreover, the likes of Josh Inglis, Liam Livingstone, Chris Jordan and Mitchell Marsh are enjoying dream runs in the concurrent edition, making the hosts as the dominant side in the competition.
