Sydney Sixers would be returning to their home ground the SCG as they take on Brisbane Heat in the next game of the Big Bash League. The Sixers suffered a bad loss in the last game against the Hobart Hurricanes were a batting collapse cost them a game that was almost in their bag.
As for the Brisbane Heat, the season has been bad so far as the side has lost both its game and is under pressure to earn its first points for the season. Brisbane Heat has a poor record against the Sydney Sixers and has lost the last games they have played against them. This would surely play on their minds when they go out to play the next game. One more loss can put the Heat into a spot of bother and the side needs to fix the problem areas and play well as a unit to defeat the Sixers who have a good record playing at home.

Moises Henriques would be terribly upset with the way his side went down against Hobart Hurricanes in the last game. They failed to chase down a target of 130 runs due to a sudden batting collapse. The skipper would want his side to put this behind and approach the next game positively. Josh Philippe and Jordan Silk were the only top-order batsmen who held their ground together in the last game. The side will expect a better show from Daniel Hughes opening the batting.
The likes of Henriques and James Vince need to make bigger contributions for the side to win the next game. It was a good show by the bowlers in the last game especially from Ben Dwarshuis and Ben Manenti with the new ball and didn’t allow the opposition to score too many runs. Tom Curran and Sean Abbott also did well in the middle overs and they would look forward to carrying the same momentum against the Brisbane Heat.

Chris Lynn’s side is in a spot of bother for the moment after losing their first two games. After looking all set for a win against the Melbourne Stars in their last game the side threw away the opportunity. Lynn would have to regroup his men and expect them to play well as one more loss would put them under serious pressure. Tom Banton is looking in good form and Matt Renshaw also played well in the last game but the rest of the batting failed collectively.
The likes of Max Bryant and Lynn would need to play well up the order and expect good contributions from the likes of Ben Cutting, Sam Heazlett and Jimmy Pierson down the order. In the bowling department, Josh Lalor has to bowl well at the start along with Zahir Khan. Ben Laughlin and Mitchell Swepson will need to check the line during the middle overs along with Ben Cutting. They have to prevent the leaking of easy boundaries from both ends in the next game

It will be heavy cloud cover over Sydney on December 22 and this will make conditions difficult to bat during the game. The ball is expected to move around in the early part of the game and the batsmen will have to be watchful. We might have another of those low scoring encounters in the next game
Sydney Cricket Ground is one of the toughest T20 wickets. The large dimension of the ground doesn’t allow the batsmen to free their arms easily. As far as bowling is concerned it is one of the few venues in Australia where spinners have done well. Fast bowlers also get good assistance from the surface with the new ball.
It is one of the toughest wickets to bat on in Australia where batsmen have to work their way to make runs. Teams have usually won chasing on this surface when they have a target score in mind. The side that wins the toss in the upcoming game is in all likelihood ask the opposition to bat.
It will be a big test for the Brisbane Heat. Though they have a good side the players haven’t lived up to their reputation so far. Sydney Sixers, on the other hand, would want to get over the upset of the last game they threw it away after having done all the hard work. The Sixers are playing at home where they have enjoyed a great record.
Given the form we have seen from the Heat so far in the season coupled with their poor record against the Sixers, the team from Sydney will be the frontrunner to win this game.
