After crushing the Sixers on the previous match, Adelaide Strikers Women will now face them off again on the last day of the league stage of WBBL 2019-20.
Adelaide Strikers Women absolutely demolished Sydney Sixers in the previous game by registering a thumping 8-wicket win and going to the top of the table. Adelaide Strikers now have 20 points in 13 games at a Net Run Rate of +0.695. They have now beaten Sydney Sixers in 5 consecutive games and will begin as clear favorites for this clash.
Sydney Sixers Women, meanwhile, will have no time to recover from that drubbing in the last encounter. They have now slipped to 5th on the points table with 12 points in 13 games and a Net Run Rate of -0.130. With Melbourne Renegades Women in the 4th spot and a better run rate, the chances of Sydney Sixers making it to the semis look slim barring some miracle.

Sydney Sixers Women have slipped and have suffered 5 losses in a row. This has badly dented their run rate and their chances of making the final four. The loss of star all-rounder Ellyse Perry has obviously hurt the team and they are struggling to perform as a unit. Stand-in captain Alyssa Healy (299 runs), Ashleigh Gardner (252 runs) and Marizanne Kapp (208 runs) have been doing the scoring the absence of their star batsman. But that hasn't been enough as the big scores haven't come.
Barring Perry, the other batters have contributed only 4 fifties and two of those have come from one player. This poor show has reflected in their performances.
The team's bowling hasn't been too great either. Ashleigh Gardner (10 wickets) and Marizanne Kapp (15 wickets) have been doing the duties in the bowling department as well and the others haven't really stood up. The likes of Stella Campbell and Hayley Silver-holmes have been disappointing. Sarah Aley has been good in patches and would be hoping to finish the season on a high.

Adelaide Strikers Women have grown from strength to strength in this season of the WBBL and are currently on a six-match winning spree. With a very solid batting unit and an in-form bowling outfit, they have managed ways to squeeze oppositions. Having already crushed Sydney Sixers Women in the last game, Adelaide Striker would be confident of repeating the feat on the return match.
Sophie Devine's juggernaut continues this season as she is now the leading run-getter with 639 runs and a stunning average of 79.87. Even in the last game, she was the top-scorer with an unbeaten 46. Apart from her, there is captain Suzie Bates (297 runs) who had done the bulk of the scoring. This opening duo has been the most dangerous one of WBBL 2019-20 and Sydney will be wary of them again. Bridget Patterson (261 runs) and Tahlia McGrath (252 runs) are the other two dependable batters for the team.
Adelaide's bowling has plenty of performers. Amanda Wellington (16 wickets), Sarah Coyte (15 wickets), Sophie Devine (15 wickets) and Megan Schutt (12 wickets) have combined to give the team the most dependable bowling outfit. In the last game against Sydney Sixers, the bowlers helped in restricting them to 93-9. With Coyte and Schutt being the stars. They will pose a serious challenge to Sydney Sixers again in this game.

The pitch at Hurstville Oval, Sydney, is expected to be a slow one. But batters who dig in can make a big score as well. Seamers will have a good time on this wicket and they will get some movement off the pitch. The weather for the matchday is expected to be bright and sunny. We can expect a full game.
There has not been an international match played at Hurstville Oval, Sydney. Hence not much is known about the characteristics of the ground. It does look like a place where bowlers will enjoy and batters will take some time to find their rhythm.
The team winning the toss is likely to bowl first. This has been a slow wicket and the toss-winning team will look to restrict the opposition to a low total and then chase down the score.
Adelaide Strikers Women are now at the top of the points table and deservedly so. They have displayed a great brand of cricket in this season and have had all bases covered for the most part. Having beaten Sydney Sixers Women in their last 5 encounters, Adelaide Strikers begin as favorites for this clash.
Sydney Sixers Women have gone from bad to worse in this season and have not been able to recover from the loss of their captain and star player Ellyse Perry. They are now close to losing their semis spot and are unlikely to get past a strong and in-form Adelaide Strikers. With form and confidence behind them, Adelaide Strikers Women should be backed to win this contest.
