The match number 17 is between two teams hovering at the bottom half of the points table, Barbados Tridents and St Lucia Zouks. Both teams managed a solitary win from their 4 and 3 matches played respectively and both are coming from defeats in their previous games.
Tridents faced Tallawahs in Jamaica who was playing their third matches consecutively on their home ground. Having lost all the matches the Tallawahs came out with a new plan. With their bowling being the weaker link, Tallawahs opted to bowl and they gave a new look to their bowling line up dropping all senior players. Hales’s little cameos continued as looked good for his 2 sixes before he gifted his wicket to Worker. Worker struck again to remove Charles and for the first time in this season, Tallawahs conceded less than 50 in the powerplay.
Duminy held things at one end but wickets were falling regularly as they were reduced to 60/4 when skipper Holder failed to read a wrong-un from Zahir Khan for a golden duck. Lewis picked his second to dismiss carter and they were 71/5 from 12 overs. Ashley nurse gave the much-needed impetus with a quickfire 33 from 14 balls. Wickets of Duminy and Nurse in successive deliveries left their team in a spot of bother. Zahir Khan returned to spin his web on the tail and ended with 3/20 as Tridents managed to reach 140-run mark. Gayle and Phillips made short work of the target, scoring 48 in 5 overs. Holder pegged back by dismissing both openers in same over and Walsh did the same to reduce them to 68/4. Walton and Glen took care of the chase as late wickets did not help Tridents cause and were defeated comfortably.
Meanwhile Zouks in their previous game against St Kitts, batting first got strangled themselves in the left-arm spin of Jordan. From 30 for 3, Grandhomme counter-attacked for his 17-ball 30. When he followed Perera to the hut, the score was 78/6. Viljoin added some crucial runs with skipper Sammy and the tail with his 28 and managed to make his team reach a below-par score of 138. The early wicket of Thomas did not create any threats as Lewis and Evans plundered 56 from first 5. Hafeez joined Lewis after Evans as Lewis deposited Zoulks to all parts taking the team total to 118 by just the 11th over. Lewis wicket and rain were just delaying the inevitable as St Kitts stomped to victory.

St Lucia Zouks studded with all-rounders is not getting any fruitful results at least in one of their departments with struggle continuing with their bat and lack of trust in their bowling from their captain. Obed McCoy’s economy is the only worry as he represents his team with 7 wickets so far. Fawad Ahmed seems to be the only hope and he should deliver with wickets again.
Key Players:
Rakheem Cornwall: After scoring 33 and 75 from his new batting spot in the powerplays, he faced his first failure with a single-digit score in his previous match. If his offies find more variation in this shorter format, he can be a real utility player.
Colin De Grandhomme: He would love to bat up the order as he did against the Lankans in the T20 series. His 30 off 22 is just a sample of his counter-attacking when sent earlier.

They would love to get solid starts from their top 3 and mainly from Alex Hales. No contributions from their all-rounder's Holder and carter is hurting them. Boucher and Duminy are among runs in the middle order and they should carry the team forward. Apart from Holder in the powerplay, the pace department looks toothless. The leggies Lamichhane and Walsh are a great asset and they are proving their art with 8 wickets between them from their last two matches.
Key Players:
Alex Hales: Having started well with 19 and 12, he threw his wicket away in the last 2 matches. He is too good a player in this format and is left with much less time to grab back his spot with world cup around the corner.
Sandeep Lamichhane: He will be aware of the Zouks trouble against spin from their performance against Akeem Jordan and Shadab Khan.

Mostly sunny and dry weather with a passing shower is expected in St Lucia. It is going to be a hard time for the bowlers with the small boundary and lightning outfield as four 200 scores were posted last year with an average score of 190.
The pitch at St Lucia is on the slower side and provides assistance for the spinners.
Teams chasing the target had an edge of 3-1 over the teams batting first in the matches held in the previous edition.
Sammy would hope the ground named after him would bring him some fortunes. But it is not going to be an easy task as they have the challenge of a solid top order and leggie threat awaiting. Tridents will have it easy until they are taken over by any of the all-rounders in the opposition cabin.
