Team Abu Dhabi, under the guidance of Trevor Bayliss, would be hoping to secure a win in the first match of the season. Skipper Moeen Ali would be spearheading the batting department for the hosts, and along with experienced T20 crusader, Luke Wright and Core Anderon could give a run for the money to Dawid Malan’s XI in the opening feud.
Left arm-pacer Harry Gurney would be heading the bowling department for Team Abu Dhabi, and with Lewis Gregory and Ben Laughlin could tear apart the opposition at the situation’s behest.
Niroshan Dickwella, Lewis Gregory, Ben Laughlin, Luke Wright, Richard Gleeson, Moeen Ali, Corey Anderson, Marchant de Lange, Paras Khadka, Harry Gurney, Rohan Mustafa
In spite of missing out on 11 potential Pakistani players, Qalandars have picked a strong squad for the T10 feuds. The likes of Luke Ronchi and Dawid Malan hold humongous expertise in the T20 formats and could be backed to render a decent show in the coming duel. The latter’s performance, in particular, would be of great interest to the hosts if they are hoping to upset the likes of Moeen Ali & Co. Seekkuge Prasanna is another fine prospect whose six-hitting abilities could give the hosts an edge in their opening encounter.
Bowling wise, the team would be banking on Chris Jordan and Samit Patel for affecting the breakthroughs at regular intervals.
S Prasanna, Jordan Clark, George Garton, Lahiru Kumara, Sultan Ahmed, Tom Banton, Dawid Malan, Chris Jordan, Philip Salt, Luke Ronchi, Laurie Evans
It is going to be a clear weather with zero chances of rain in the coming encounter. One could expect a good amount of pace and bounce at Sheikh Zayed Cricket Ground, with average first innings score being 150.
The ball would come onto the bat pretty decently in the later durations, and thus, one could expect the target being without breaking a sweat.
The pitch at Abu Dhabi has been a bowler's delight with teams opting to bowl first winning by decent margins. Not to forget, the dew factor which will favor the batters in the latter half of the play.
Qalandars look pretty settled on paper and would be a force to reckon with in the ongoing T10 League tournament. Although Team Abu Dhabi possesses some hard-hitting prowess, there’s a strong hunch that they would falter at the hands of Dawid Malan & Co in their inaugural match of the tournament.
We are expecting Qalandars to surface meritorious in the coming match!
