Trinbago Knight Riders will be looking to continue their winning ways when they take on Jamaica Tallawahs in the sixth match of 2020 Caribbean Premier League at Brian Lara Stadium in Tarouba on Friday.
In their opening game, Trinbago Knight Riders beat Guyana Amazon Warriors, courtesy Sunil Narine’s all-round brilliance. Captain Kieron Pollard will be hoping that the side can keep the winning momentum going in this game.
On the other hand, Jamaica Tallawahs started their campaign on a winning note by registering a five-wicket win over St. Lucia Zouks. Tallawahs will be hoping to continue their good form in the next set of the matches.

In their opening game, Trinbago Knight Riders won the toss and opted to bowl first. The decision paid dividend as bowlers got rid of the openers inside the first four overs.
Off-spinner Sunil Narine bowled exceedingly well and did not let Guyana to score freely in the middle phase of the innings. Narine was the best bowler for the side and finished with figures of 2 for 19 in his four overs. Chasing 145 runs for victory, openers Lendl Simmons and Sunil Narine got the side off to a decent start, courtesy 22-run partnership for the opening wicket. Lendl Simmons was dismissed in the 4th over after scoring 17 runs off 22 balls with the help of two boundaries. Makeshift opener Sunil Narine looked in excellent form with the bat and added 34 runs with Colin Munro.
Despite losing Munro in the sixth over, Narine continued to play his shots and score runs at a brisk rate. He was the standout performer with the bat for Trinbago Knight Riders and finished the innings with the top-score of 50 runs off 28 balls with the help of two fours and four sixes.
Narine was well supported by Darren Bravo, who smashed fluent 30 runs off 27 balls with the help of two sixes. Captain Kieron Pollard and Dwayne Bravo scored vital runs at the end to see the side complete the chase in the 16th over of the innings.

Skipper Rovman Powell will be pleased with his side’s performance and will be hoping to deliver another clinical performance against Trinbago Knight Riders.
In their opening fixture, Jamaica Tallawahs won the toss and opted to field first. The spinners put in an excellent effort with the ball in hand to restrict St. Lucia Zouks to 158 for 7 in their allotted 20 overs.
Left-arm spinner Veerasammy Permaul and off-spinner Mujeeb Ur Rehman picked up key wickets to keep the opposition batsmen in check. Permaul and Mujeeb claimed two wickets, while Leg-spinner Sandeep Lamichhane claimed one wicket in his four-over spell.
Chasing 159 runs for victory, Tallawahs got off to a poor start as Chadwick Walton and Nicholas Kirton perished for low scores. Skipper Rovman Powell and Glenn Phillips came together and put on a 63-run partnership to rebuild the innings.
Powell was dismissed in the 10th over of the innings. He looked good in his innings and scored 26 runs off 17 balls with the help of two fours and two sixes.Glenn Phillips also played an excellent inning of 44 runs off 29 balls with the help of three fours and three sixes. Phillips perished in the 11th over to see Tallawahs lose their fourth wicket with 84 runs on the board.
Asif Ali and Andre Russell put on a 42-run partnership to take the game down to the wire. For Tallawahs, Asif Ali produced a match-winning inning of 47 not out off 27 balls with the help of five boundaries and two sixes. He was well supported by the likes of Andre Russell and Carlos Brathwaite, who registered scores of 16 and 18* respectively.
