TNPL 2018 runner-up Dindigul Dragon will take on Tuti Patriots in the 10th Twenty20 TNPL match at the India Cements Limited- Sankar Nagar Ground, Tirunelveli on Saturday. Dindigul Dragons had a great start to the tournament following their triumph versus Chepauk Super Gillies and Madurai Panthers. They are undefeated in the tournament so far. Both their batsmen and bowlers are in superb form and they are also amongst the top scorer and wicket-taker. M Silambarasan has been the standout bowlers for the side, he picked 8 wickets from just 2 games. In batting, N Jagadeesan is leading the side, he scored 104 runs in 2 games which also includes his 87 runs knock versus Madurai Panthers. Skipper R Aswin led side will look for yet another win.
On the other hand, TUTI Patriots, having lost their first match by nine wickets to defending champions Siechem Madurai Panthers, they did extremely well to win their second match at the NPR College Ground. In a rain-affected 13-overs-a-side, the batsmen put a huge total of 155. Skipper V Subramania Siva scored 44 from 21 balls and Vasanth Saravanan 29 runs in only 12 balls. Tuti Patriots team has been the most consistent team in TNPL from the inaugural season and would be hoping to carry on their best form in this season as well. In 2016, Tuti Patriots were the champion of the inaugural season. In the second season, 2017, they were the runner-up. In the previous season, the team failed to make it to playoffs, they were at fifth place in point table.
Following their win in the previous game, Tuti Patriots side bounced back and will certainly look to maintain the consistency tag in this season as well.
Batting unit put up a solid show in the previous match, all the batsmen stood up and scored quick firepower innings to put up the enormous score on board. Dindigul Dragons have a star player, R Ashwin, who is also leading the side. He got an enormous success at the international level. Also, he led the KXIP side in IPL and was also very successful in the league. His promotion in the batting helped Dindigul dragon for their first win in the season. He scored quick firepower inning of 37 runs. He would be looking to contribute in both batting and bowling in upcoming games.
Wicket-keeper batsman Narayan Jagadeesan has been in outstanding form in this season as well. He is the leading scorer for the Dindigul side with 104 runs from two games at an average of 104.
