It is the 12th match of the Mzansi Super League 2019 and an upbeat Tshwane Spartans would be taking on Durban Heat at their home ground SuperSport Park, Centurion.
The Spartans come into this game after a convincing win against Paarl Rocks where the side showed its batting strength. As for the Durban Heat, they lost the last game against Cape Town Rocks after looking in complete control of the game. They will need to recover from the loss and play good cricket to win this one. Tshwane Spartans have a very strong batting line-up and on a fast and bouncy track at home, they are expected to put up their best act together.
Durban Heat is already under pressure with two of their games being washed away and having lost the last one. It remains to be seen how the Heat matches up to the challenge that the hosts are likely to throw at them in the next game.

It was just the kind of performance that reiterated the reason behind Heinrich Klaasen’s side being seen as one of the favorites this season. Against Paarl Rocks in the last game, they made the big chase look easy winning it by 8 wickets. Klaasen would want his side to carry the same form into the next game.
The opening pair of Theunis de Bruyn and Dean Elgar earned the side an easy win with Elgar playing an entertaining knock. With AB de Villiers at No. 3, they have the best batsman in the world in this format. The side has good batting in the middle order with Heinrich Klaasen, Donavon Ferreira, Petrus van Biljon and Tom Curran and they would pose a stiff challenge to the Heat’s bowling attack in the next game. Bowling is one area where the side would look to improve as it was a poor effort with the ball in the last game.
Morne Morkel and Roelof van der Merwe were the stars in an otherwise poor bowling show by the side. The likes of Tom Curran, Lutho Sipamla and Lungi Ngidi will look to take advantage of the conditions in the next game and trouble the Durban Heat’s batting line-up.

Dane Vilas’ side handed over a victory to Cape Town Blitz in the last game. The captain would have been upset at seeing the batting collapse from his side in the game that they should have easily won. He would like his players to get this defeat off their minds and play well against an opponent that looks in great form. The side would need a good start from Alex Hales and Sarel Erwee with the former being the best batsman of the team.
The middle-order has got experienced performers in David Miller, Dane Vilas and Ravi Bhopara. Andile Phehlukwayo who is known to have good hitting abilities will need to do well in this game. Kyle Abbott and Keshav Maharaj are in good form with the ball and they will need to pick early wickets for the side in the next game. Malusi Siboto is also bowling tight lines and shall need to control the scoring rate in the middle overs along with Bhopara and Phehlukwayo for the side to win the next game.

The weather at Centurion on the 21st of November is expected to be overcast with chances of light showers. The pitch wouldn’t be the easiest of surfaces to bat on where the ball is expected to bounce and move. Batsmen will need to be cautious with their shot selection and a score of 150 plus would be a good total to defend.
The wicket at the SuperSport Park, Centurion has been good for the fast bowlers who can extract pace and bounce front of the surface. The true nature of the pace also makes it easy for the batsmen to hit the ball. The large size of the ground creates lots of opportunities for two’s and three’s at this venue. The spinners haven’t really done well here.
It is one of the fastest wickets in South Africa where the fast bowlers have done well with the new ball. With the weather expected to remain cloudy it will be a challenge to bat on this track. We expect the side winning the toss to bowl first on this wicket and try and exploit the early juice on the surface.
The Tshwane Spartans are coming into this game riding on the confidence of a massive win in the last game. Their batsmen are looking in excellent form at the moment. Durban Heat, on the other hand, lost the last game that they should have won which would have hurt their confidence a bit. After two rain washed games and a loss the visitors are in a must-win situation in the game.
With an in-form batting line-up and quality pace attack hosts Tshwane Spartans will start as favorites in the game.
