West Indies Women vs India Women 1st ODI Match Prediction 01 Nov 2019

India Women would begin their long tour of the Caribbean islands as they play hosts West Indies Women in the first of the 3-match ODI series at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, North Sound, Antigua.

India Women would start with confidence after they won a series against South Africa Women at home recently. West Indies Women are struggling for form at the moment and have lost their last eight games and this has increased pressure on the side. In the recent past India Women have enjoyed an upper hand over West Indies Women and have defeated them eight times in the last ten games between the two sides. The hosts will have to play out of their skins to defeat the strong Indian team in the game. With home advantage, they are likely to compete well in the series.

There would be slight cloud cover at Antigua on November 01 but it isn’t likely to affect the game. The pitch is likely to be a flat surface as we have seen in most of the recent games that have been played at this venue. The bowlers would get some initial movement from the surface but it isn’t likely to bother the batters. The side batting first would target a score of around 270 runs.

Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, North Sound, Antigua is a great ground for batting and over the last few years we have seen several high scoring encounters as the pitch has become flatter and the outfield faster. Fast bowlers have done well at the venue and spinners also get their turn and bounce.

The pitch is expected to be a good one to bat on. In the recent games we have seen the ball coming on to the bat nicely. This would allow batters to hit through the line. The side winning the toss would like to bat first and use their spin attack when the pitch wears down towards the end.
